Don't wear a pad or panty as they will just swell up with water and offer no protection. Bobbi is correct that you probably should not worry about protection for swimming. Any really big pool has enough chlorine and is big enough that it won't be an issue. It depends on how bad a condition you have with either stress or urge incontinence, but having a swim diaper for beach, water parks, etc. might be a good idea. I wear a swim diaper in such circumstances but I pair it with a very conservative cut one piece with a skirt. Check out www.decentexposures.com for some really nice skirted one-piece swimsuits.

I've read that you shouldn't worry too much about urinary incontinence in a pool since there is so much water in the pool, any urine won't be noticiable and the chlorine will take care of any contamination.

However, check out http://www.discoverytrekking.com/special_brief.html for a swim brief to deal with the situation.

How do other ladies with urinary incontinence cope with swimming (both stress and expecially urge)? Do you worry about it or not? Do you wear any of these products while in the pool? If so, do they show? I am trying to be more active and wear thick poise or depends for fitness walking but these are for land based exercise only. I asked a pharmacist and she had no idea if people wear any special products while swimming.
